You learn a variety of casting and fishing techniques, are advised on what equipment you need and learn the essential skill of watercraft. All this while catching your first trout in picturesque countryside. Once you have a grasp of the basics fishing small stillwaters, you have the option to explore reservoir and river fishing on subsequent days or fish by yourself, putting your new skills to good use!

Your guide shows you how to catch these wary trout on dry fly and nymph, providing essential up to date knowledge on where and when fish are feeding, what flies to use and the best approach for a successful trip. If river fishing is your passion we can fish a different stretch each day!

Alternatively, take a break from running water. Visit local spring fed lakes offering you the chance to stalk trout in crystal clear water. A great challenge and learning experience for anglers of all abilities!

Derbyshire Peak District Break

Your guide will show you current, productive areas, techniques to use and flies that work.

If you would like to mix reservoir fishing and river fishing, the famous Derbyshire Wye is nearby. This is the only UK river where wild rainbow trout breed, providing you with a unique opportunity to fish dry fly for these hard fighting wild trout in addition to the resident browns and grayling.
