A new fishing season at Carsington Water

For the avid reservoir angler March is the time when many waters re-open for fly fishing. Derbyshire's Carsington Water is one such water.

Set in the Peak District National Park the reservoir provides wonderfull fly fishing for brown trout both wild and stocked. This year the season opens on March 18th and I am in eager anticipation of the new season's fishing.

I hope to improve my current personal best from the water, a brown trout of 4 1/2lbs. The spring is one of the best times for catching the venue's larger trout. So if you fancy landing quality brown trout in 2006 Carsington water is a good place to start.

For details of our guided fishing at this venue and see a picture of fish you can catch, go to our Carsington Water Fly Fishing page.

I will of course keep you posted on my adventures this year and the fishing at Carsington plus all our other venues as the season progresses.
