Mid October Report

Water temperatures are down and levels have comeback up on our smaller waters as the springs kick back in again. The fishing is excellent currently with some fantastic rainbows being landed.

Fry feeding is beginning on several lakes, with some very agressive attacks visible close to the surface. Despite this we are taking more fish on small nymph patterns, especially midge pupa.

The brown trout are also becoming very agressive as they start to think about spawning. We have taken some wonderfully conditioned fish during the last two weeks, some on lures others on nymphs, plus more than a few with small dries.

We currently have dates available for the remainder of October if you dream of a big brown trout after which time the season will be closed until April. Fishing for the rainbows will continue througho the year, with plenty of big fish about I know it will be a great winter's fishing!
