February fly fishing proved popular and you can see why! In addition to several clients taking their 1st day fly fishing, we guided anglers in pursuit of larger trout and pike with great success. Clients landed trout in excess of 5lbs, up to 15lbs, while many of you wanting something different, tangled with pike to mid double figures!
March sees a big change to the schedule here at MFF. We are wrapping up our last few trips for pike and grayling, prior to leaving them in peace to breed and recover condition, call for your chance to make a late trip.
Our March fly fishing tuition sees a big increase in demand as everyone wants to be waterside fishing a fly in spring! It’s a great month for brushing up casting, learning news skills or starting to fly fish.
The 2011 river trout season opens in March for some rivers, a time we all eagerly anticipate. Peak District rivers open for fly fishing on March 18th, when weather conditions are far from predictable and anglers need to be flexible in their approach. A selection of weighted bugs and nymphs will be the go to flies, with parachute Adams, Klinkhammers and F flies covering olive and midge hatches.
Hope to see you on the water!
